South Coast Metro is home to the Theater & Arts District, which features one of the finest collections of performing and visual arts to be found anywhere in the world. Here you'll find the magnificent Segerstrom Center for the Arts, one of the area's enduring performing arts venues for musical theater, opera, cabaret and more in its 3,000-seat Segerstrom Hall and intimate 250-seat Founders Hall.
Adjacent to The Center is the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, where audiences enjoy world-class performances in the magnificent Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, Samueli Theater, and the Folino Center, featuring Tony Award-winning South Coast Repertory Theatre's Segerstrom Stage, Argyros Stage and Nicholas Studio. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts also includes the Lawrence and Kristina Dodge Education Center and Leatherby's Cafe Rouge.
An expansive 46,000-square-foot community plaza connects the venues. The area's remarkable collection of visual arts includes The Center's signature sculpture, Fire Bird, by noted artist Richard Lippold, and the imposing Connector created by Richard Serra that graces the plaza. Soaring above the Spanish granite lobby floor of the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall is a ceiling finished in silver leaf and an adorned with a breathtaking lighting installation titled "Constellation". This award-winning piece of architectural jewelry includes faceted Swarovski crystal LED globes and 300 silver lavalieres suspended in graduated lengths that are tipped in illuminated Baccarat crystal pendants.
